In other places you've lived, you've worried every month about getting funds into your checking account by the first of the month, getting your rent check to the manager, successfully "floating" checks and avoiding ugly late fees.
Those worries are behind you. Fleur-de-Lis Apartments offer you two novel options for payment of rent, utilities and other charges.
Without having to write, mail or deliver a check, your payments will be electronically withdrawn from the designated checking account. Need time to get that paycheck, or the funds from home, into your checking account? No problem. The withdrawal from your checking account is not made on the 1st of the month, but on the 5th, or later! You have the benefit of a built-in grace period!
Or, if you prefer, pay rent and other charges by an electronic withdrawal from any credit or debit card we are authorized to access -- yours, Mother's, Dad's, or Aunt Ellie's. Depending on the credit card's cycle, a rent charge made on or after the 5th of the month may not be billed to the cardholder for weeks! Credit card charges also allow you to handle temporary cash shortages without the burdens of late charges and bounced check fees.
We'll provide the necessary consent and authorization forms to allow you to register for checking account withdrawal, or debit or credit card charging. Except for your original security/cleaning and your garage door opener deposits, which you may make by regular check, the only payment systems available at Fleur-de-Lis are electronic withdrawal from a checking account or charging a debit or credit card.
We require both a "regular" and a "backup" form of payment. If, for example, you wanted to use your checking account as your regular form of payment, we would routinely process charges against that account. However, should there ever be a problem in processing your charges, we would go to your "backup" source of payment. One of your forms of payment -- either regular or backup -- must be a credit card. If we have to process charges against your backup source of payment, a processing fee will be assessed.
